Insight : a concise and original analysis (1000 to 3 000 words)  written by a specialist  published approximatly twice a year.

The Military Observed  (New !) will offer, once every two months, brief analyses or insights on events, phenomena observed in post-Soviet armies and law enforcement agencies. This item is opened to external contributors.

The Database:

Psan regular database will been reorganised, developed, enriched with new topics, and after a long interruption, it will once again be updated every week. As you have probably already noticed, a lot of items are still empty or missing, these will be filled or created little by little as the events happen and as the resources become available. The archives prior to December 2004 will soon be attached to this site.

Psan database has no pretention to be exhaustive, but it tends to assemble the maximum of references of works, books and journal articles on post-Soviet militaries and power institutions according to topics defined by the editor. Specialits, researchers, PhD students, etc. are cordially invited to inform the editor about their publications to facilitate the data gathering and permit the listing of the documents therefore avoiding a delay between the publication date and the posting on psan.org.

Psan is directly linked to the new journal of social sciences The Journal of Power Institutions in Post-Soviet Societies (www.pipss.org) and aims to become the specialized database on post-Soviet armed forces and power ministries.
